Methodologically, it would have been better to report Gay men vs. Lesbians vs. Straight couples. Since gender roles attributed to each gender by society is an important part of this research, putting gay men and lesbians together makes the results more difficult to interpret, not easier.

I don’t think his reasoning is good at all. He’s not being honest with himself about why he’s giving flowers. Had he been honest, he wouldn’t have needed to sit down and ‘compile’ a list of reasons.
I don’t know about love, but straight dudes humping other straight dudes (as teenagers/young adults) is not uncommon - particularly if we focus outside the US.

I didn’t say that Britain or Europe doesn’t produce crap. I’m excluding the crappy content from all countries. The point is that when you get rid of the crap, a lot more British shows are left that make the cut while only a few American shows make the cut.
And let’s not forget that Game of Thrones is almost (if not more) British than it is American.
