World-class indeed. The actual disaster is so well done, and the pacing and panic is incredibly well realized. There were some character beats that worked really well, too. The band, obviously. Also I particularly liked the ship designer, played by Victor Garber, and how, just, SAD he was that he’d fucked up. 

The thing is, James Cameron is legitimately that knowledgeable and passionate about the Titanic! I read this interview, where the crew guys were saying that there wasn’t a single job on set that James Cameron COULDNT or WOULDNT do.
