Yeah I get that, it definitely does add an additional layer to the experience of reading. But having all those books IS ungainly... And wasteful!

Reading is good. But physically owning the books? Ehh. Kindles are good, libraries are good too. PDFs are also a thing that exist if you want to support the author (a noble endeavor!), and a thumb drive is way lighter than a stack of books.
Hengdai, Wu.
Michael Shannon is so good! Have you seen him read a sorority president’s letter?
So my original point was that I know it’s easy to give up Louis CK and R Kelly, and I have. Like I said, I’m being facetious about the whole karaoke thing. Some of the other things are much more difficult to cut out.
IGNORE THIS COMMENT!
The person who is pursuing should pay. 99.999% of the time I am asking a woman out, so I am paying. If she were to ask me out though, I think it is reasonable for her to pay.
I am always on a 90s/early 2000s kick. Speaking of, don’t know where you live but if you ever are in NYC (or if you live here!), there’s this place Le Poisson Rouge that has a 90s/early 2000s cover band concert on Friday nights and IT IS FUCKING AMAZING. SO MUCH FUN
The no extended instrumentals is key, and is mainly why American Girl is off the table IMO
The problem is I DON’T feel guilty, I enjoy it too much. I know I SHOULD feel guilty, and that my inability (or refusal, depending on your POV) to do so is objectively a mark against my character (just how big a flaw is up to the individual to decide). So I feel guilty about not feeling guilty, if that makes sense.
Huh, you know what I didn’t even think about the costs entailed in the adoption process. Totally did not consider that!
I admire your resolve. Both of you!
And somehow, Ian McShane's delivery is just perfect every time. He's amazing.
It’s Alixandra. She doesn’t know why her parents spelled it that way either.
It is tough, not just because of the inconvenience (although some things are definitely more inconvenient than others- quadrupling the amount I spend on clothing in order to avoid sweatshop-made clothes, or never using a car in order to help protect the environment being extreme examples), but because sometimes I…
WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE ASSHOLES
That’s definitely a part of it, sure. I could make more sacrifices in my life than I do. And yes, not singing a pedophile’s songs at karaoke is literally doing the bare minimum.
See Jimmy Page is a huge blind spot for me. I FUCKING LOVE Zeppelin, but all of them were AWFUL. Like, holy shit! The parties and the stories and the literal orgies with underage girls. And that is me purposefully saying ‘girls’ instead of ‘women’ because THEY WERE LITERALLY GIRLS. But no one talks about it at all.
I will say I think genuine penance (GENUINE penance) goes a long way. I am an objectively better person than I was 7-10 years ago, when I would make gay jokes with my friends and I was too immature for the very intense relationship I was in and treated my girlfriend poorly. Now as to who is genuinely penitent, is up…
LOL I’m not so good with commitment.
