Thao is amazing! I first caught her about 10 years ago when she was the regional opener for Jenny Lewis, it's been awesome to see her take off. Sounds like an unforgettable show!

Yeah we’ve definitely had a few small ones here and there, barely enough to rattle the windows or even notice if you’re driving. I was in the archives of my office - basically surrounded by 8 foot tall metal bookcases that weren’t bolted to the floor. I don't think I've ever moved so fast in work apparel!

That earthquake was unreal. I’ve lived on and off in Va most of my life and all the things I thought I’d encounter living elsewhere - tornados, earthquakes, massive flooding, blizzards all happened while living in Richmond, Va. My worry is that people drop their guard when they hear that a storm has dropped out of hurricane status. Where I live in Va, we don’t see these sorts of  storms often, so people tend to forget how bad they can be or decide they don’t need to prepare for anything beyond a power outage.

Yeah that is a tough call, made harder to predict because we don’t get these head on collisions as frequently as some areas further South. Hopefully RIC will make the call about cancelling flights with enough time for people to make accommodations. 

That being said, tropical storms can still wreak havoc. I feel like I cursed my state of Va by mentioning Isabel to someone last week. I live 100 miles inland and that storm rode straight up the James River and walloped us in Richmond. 

Richmond is much farther inland than areas like Norfolk and Newport News. They’re at high risk for actual hurricane conditions. Here in Richmond we usually get high winds and rain, which can cause a ton of localized flooding especially since we’re hillier. Makes it really tough to know how to plan for storms like…

Flooding might make Amtrak rethink things, too. 

Going by past storms, I’d imagine the winds might be reason to stop flights, even though we don’t usually see the severity of coastal areas (exception: Isabel).

Even the mere suggestion in the wrong direction could set him off like an idiotic Hamlet, it doesn't need to have merit, he's just that paranoid and susceptible.

My reading comprehension drops considerably when people censor their swear words. My brain tries to fill in alternate words, and it's f-------------ing irritating.
