Fortunately with the electronics on newer cars, that’s not as common as it used to be. But every now and then you still got Grandma in her ‘94 Park Avenue grinding every single tooth off the starter and flex plate.

The adapter is about $10 at the dealer to go from Type C to a Type A port. Otherwise you can get a type C to type C cable for cheap on Amazon or anywhere else and a type C to Lightning cable for iPhone users for cheap and don’t need an adapter.
