How can you have this story and not mention Fargo?  We can argue about whether McDormand or Macy is the ‘star’ of the film, but given the difference in screen time it’s impossible to argue that he’s a supporting player and she’s a lead.  (Personally I would argue that both should have gotten lead noms)

I first remember seeing the wizard (Mordrain? I can’t remember) in the appalling Ruby-Spears cartoon and being surprised when I saw DL2 some fifteen years later at a Six Flags and realizing he wasn’t made up for the show.

I *loved* that game. I think the hall-effect twisty joystick had something to do with it, because I loved I Robot and Ikari Warriors too. That and the wacky B-movie aesthetic was enough to carry it for me (but then, I loved most of Warner Atari’s arcade games in that era and VERY few of them hold up).
