Isn’t the ‘new’ train station George Russell is building supposed to be the old Penn Station? It was designed by Stanford White’s firm. (obligatory plea to google the old Penn Station and be outraged that such a beautiful space to was demolished to build MSG)

the beach that makes you 65 million years old

Signed, Mr L. Luthor, Metropolis

But then there’ll be too many supervillains.

Just don’t watch one. You even get to pick.

Has a sort of family-friendly Boogie Nights feel to it.

There’s literally already Camp Cretaceous, a Jurassic Park kid show on Netflix or something.  I’m holding out for Silurian Showdown, the movie where they have to fight Eurypterids.

You want to really revitalise the franchise? ‘Thylacine Zoo’, coming 2026.

Okay, but Velocicoaster is supposed to be pretty dope from what I’ve seen/heard.

As someone who was there for the original JP film and loved it, I haven’t really been paying attention to these Jurassic World films. I’ve seen parts of them. Oh, but now with the original cast back together? They got me with the nostalgia feels. I think I’ll see this one.

I really hate this fat suit argument. Being heavy is not an immutable characteristic. Punishing a thin actor by not letting them play somebody who either genetically or otherwise happens to be heavy is ridiculous and has nothing to do with acting. I guess we should force Zellweger to treat her body like Christian Bale

I think Defending Your Life sort of cops out at the end but I was blown away by Streep in it, and it’s in how she does something discussed below -- play nice. She is a practically perfect person and instead of that being obnoxious it’s easy to fall for her just like Brooks does. Great performance and I think it gets

Uh, he was intentionally dressed like a dock worker, as he was a guy who just bought a ferry. Were you really that baffled?

There is shit we can do it’s just that the wealthy have no interest in doing it.

That’s literally a huge plot point in the movie.

Except that according to this: https://collider.com/matrix-4-action-scenes-directing-style-jessica-henwick/  Lana wanted to pull the plug on the whole thing for good when the pandemic hit, but it was the cast that  talked her into finishing it, so it looks like Katie is sort of right.

Yeah, I find myself hoping that Katie is WAY off with this description, because the idea of Lana Wachowski making a reluctant sequel (and making sure we all know she’s making it reluctantly) seems about as pleasant as multiple paper cuts to the tongue.

It could be two things, where working with familiar characters was comforting, but not really something she intended for public consumption.

IIRC it was around the time that, IIRC, ABC did a super cringe-worthy special where Bette Milder plays Mother Nature, who’s rushed to the ER and treated by freaking Doogie Howser and a timelost version of Dana Delany’s character from China Beach while various TV characters from different networks watch the news

That sketch was long as all hell. And it showed how a lot of the references on SNL have always been dated already. Dean Martin’s drunk bit was a 60s 70s thing I think.
