He was decent in HBO's Bessie Smith movie. Proved he's capable of more than his "y'all look good" bit.

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is one of the five (or so) albums that left me in stunned silence for 20 minutes after it ended. I still don't fully understand why it moves me so deeply. Maybe that just means I'm one of those shlubs who buys into the mythos, but I'm okay with that.
Yes! That's the perfect description. I made it to the end, wondering why I was wasting my time the whole way. But it's never left me. I can't recall a word of "Snow Falling On Cedars," but I won't forget the drill, the rat, even the Dove Bar.
Huzzah, 3 O'Clock High!
What are you going to do with those pies?

Fourth-wall breaking is silly 98% of the time; it's hard to retain tension when the movie itself is telling you it's only a movie.
Erik Adams has an excellent point about Manos. It's so pasted together, so genuinely inept, that it transcends surreality into something…sinister. It's like a movie version of Candle Cove.
Good call, since that's exactly what "Tattooed Love Boys" is about. She's mentioned it before.
So, no "Riptide" from Robert Palmer's album of the same name?
For just a moment, I thought someone remade "License to Drive."
You did? Geez, I couldn't get through McCarthy's first sentence.
I'm sure he would also concede that he nailed it.
Wow. Just wow.
I, too, can verify Delaware's existence. Without us, you'd have no George Thorogood, no Valerie Bertinelli, no Judge Reinhold…
He is chicken. Cheep cheep cheep!
Don't worry about it.
I didn't hate Brain Donors. (Painkillers help.)
