These kits just don't give the same sense of satisfaction as the old HeathKit days, since the instructions usually go something like this:

I suppose there was no reception after that.

@CHARLIEBITME: I think the world is bigger than you think it is.

What about the ones with bullet holes in?

@bainelaker: So, like, the rest of us are cool then? Phwhew, dodged another bullet. And that oil junk can't make it through the Panama canal, so I think we're good there too.

Yup, here' an update at 2:30pm from the Valley Fair store. You have to drive over and talk to them because the store doesn't seem to be answering their phones.

@SeraphX2: Which you lose at close of business today if you don't pick it up.

The line at Valley Fair is almost endless and people will likely be there for the entire day and may still not get to pick up a phone today.

Lol, that's nothing. You should see what happens to them in transit.

I was waiting for one of them to hurl his phone into the traffic below.

Well, it looks like the bumper-style cases should be pretty effective. I'm not sure the glass is breaking except where the phone lands such that the edge of the glass hits the ground.

I've been really happy with my new GTX 470. I needed a new card and decided to go for one of these to play with Octane Render and other GPU accelerated software, and it has been wonderful both for that and in general. The system is now almost completely silent (hadn't realized how much noise a GT8800 put out), and it

@ehejl: Yes, check with your homeowner's / renters insurance agent.

Or, I could just play EvE online and let the game play the exact same music at me...

They should have given you an option to have them shipped activated and powered on, so you could use "Find my iPhone" while you're waiting...

Has the 512MB RAM been confirmed?

Butch: Where's my coffee maker?

@Brak: Excuse you, but the Mac Plus came standard with 1MB of RAM and was the next model after the "fat mac" IIRC. It was also the first to have a hard drive (the 20MB model mentioned in the article) available as an option.

@madisomi: Indeed, this has been like the stupidest story since day one.
