I think part of the problem is that it can’t really be the “same vehicle” in most cases. EVs have different packaging concerns than ICE vehicles and need their own platforms. So you can have an EV that looks pretty similar and fills the same niche, but it won’t be the same like vehicles with two engine options would…

Terrific, now make them look a bit different from each other, too.

People can do that with a cheap used EV for under $20k that’s got a lot more creature comforts than the old ass beaters...

So normally I would come on here and call conservatives a bunch of pejoratives, but I’ve had a number of social media interactions that make me think perhaps people legitimately don’t understand how economics and government budgets work. So this is going to be a rare, good-faith attempt from me to explain this stuff…

Same here.  The EV is the commuter/chores vehicles.  Trips over 300 miles?  That’s once every two or three years.  Cheaper to rent, and not deal with costs of ownership over that period. 

“Its DEI’s fault” is the 2020s version of “It’s the Jews’ fault” that a certain group propagated in the 30s (And some still do)

All he has to do is blame DEI for everything, and people will line up and believe what he says as gospel. No facts, no investigations, no thinking, no common sense.

People would eat up any toyota ev created that even came close to the model y or model 3. Toyota demand would be off the charts and they could even surpass tesla in shareholder value.

Toyota might have sold another half a million cars if their (US) dealers did not act as if the cars were made of pure gold. I was considering a RAV4 until I went to a dealer and found $3500 worth of worthless add-ons. I got a CX-5 instead.

And as we speak, trump froze all new air traffic controller hires. And there was already a shortage. This is what electing a dumbass with a whole cadre of religious nutters ( project 2025) gets us. 

You joke, but literally a week ago Trump gutted a key airline safety committee.

DEI hire in Reagan ATC for sure. Or maybe the helicopter pilot’s second cousin is trans. Or maybe this is why we should re-designate them Sikorsky “White-Hawks.”
