I would much rather drive one of these adorable little guys than the massive monster trucks that have far less actual utility that are currently clogging up US roadways.

I can’t help but think there’s an ulterior motive here, though I have yet to find a direct link to a big corporate sponsor who would benefit from no Kei cars being on the road. Why not go after motorcycles, if this is all about safety? Surely there’s no debate that a Kei car is far safer than a motorcycle.
Why are we wasting time and money on this?
This is a judgement of my wrong opinion, I will not put any effort into my response.
If demand doesn’t equal or exceed supply, then the manufacturers would readjust. The people lamenting the decline of manual transmissions in cars were never going to buy them anyway.
If people bought manuals, manufacturers would make them. Your average Civic, Corolla, Sentra, etc. driver doesn’t give a shit about…
The US needs a car inspection program like TUV
Petrol engines are a XXth century technology rendered obsolete by electrification.
We should have pretty strict size restrictions on how big civilian vehicles can be. Trucks these days can’t even fit to established parking spaces. They block other vehicles’ sight lines on the road, they are unable to see pedestrians or other obstacles and hazards over their massive hoods, and their overcompensating…
I like that the byline says a 12 story building collapsed nearby - even though that has nothing to do with the story. That collapse was due to poor construction not sinking.
Miami is screwed long term, its soil is made of porous coral so there is nothing they can do to stop rising sea levels.
I haven’t done in-depth research, but from my light googling over the last year or two it seems like this and the twin Subaru Solterra have very long charge times. Not so bad if you charge at home and overnight, but the fast charging is multiples longer than most/all rivals.
I’ll be fully honest, I am kind of tired of the whole stigma that the BZ4X sucks and it’s the lump of EVs and all. Yes, the range kinda suck for some people but, honestly, it’s super well built. It drives really, really well and there are some effin’ good deals that people can get on a lease or for a purchase.
I don’t…
If I’m a parent of one of those kids, I’m buying that bus driver anything and everything he/she wants for Christmas.
Finally a single time that will be used to validate the owners of all the lifted brodozers in the boston area!
Reason #243892 why they hate bikes, more like. The first hundred thousand are pretty much all “I don’t like sharing.”
Few things bring more commuting satisfaction than outpacing cars on a bike.
Yeah, it’s called ‘fortress mentality’ and it’s a direct result of people having kids and no actual problems in life, so they make them up like abduction and myriad other issues, up to and including needing the biggest 7-seater they can[’t] afford to put their one kid in.
According to my coworker, her purchase of a giant vehicle was in response to everyone else’s giant vehicle, and her belief that such brawn would best protect her infant. And I’ve heard this from others, too.
I’ll catch heat for this, no doubt, but I’d definitely be in favor of only allowing trucks that are legit commercial vehicles in city centers--like construction and the like--not Bob driving his Ford Super Duty 350 dually to his office job.
I guess this is why SF is about to install speed cameras around the city.
