Same can be said for dealership owners: they don’t want to learn and invest in their poorly paid staff. They just want to rely on what has made them filthy rich: dumb customers driving unreliable products (that need fixing) sold by underpaid salespeople.

At least at Walmart I know I can go in and be out within 30 min. The mall? I can barely find the entrance and get back in 30 min.

“minivan full of nuns”

“This isn’t some sort of, some people do it one way, others do it another, situation”

The average at public charging - are these stats ONLY from level 3 DC fast chargers? Maybe it’s high because many EVs are Bolts/Niros/Leaves, and those have slow charging? Or, as speculated, people are waiting it out to 100%. Nothing like seeing a Niro sitting at a 350kw charger with 95% SoC waiting for it to get to

An auto-tragedy.

Came here to say this.

When I visited Japan in 2019 I was amazed at the number of hybrid variants of the cars I saw. Fit Hybrids. Corolla Hybrids. CHR Hybrids. HRV Hybrids. It seemed every car was a hybrid.

Too bad you don’t live someplace where they could walk or ride a bike.

Exactly. This needs to be priced like a Telluride.

I was being generous with 5 years, as it was 6 years a couple of years back.

Sounds like Kia has $3750 on the hood. Not surprising considering the high price. It’s still a **$70,000** Kia.

I personally think the U.S. has already lost the EV race. China is the leading world manufacturers of EVs today. The U.S. had the lead with Tesla, but politics got in the way.”

We are so early in this revolution that it makes a giant impact for relatively little effort. A few months or a couple of years for manufacturers to figure out their supply chains will be minuscule to the long-term domestic benefits.

1st: While I despise Manchin’s tactics, I am supportive of efforts to build up the domestic EV supply chain. We’ve given enough to China and other foreign competitors. It’s time to bring it home.

Why do I suddenly crave Kraft Dinner with Dijon ketchup?

Wait til you calculate maintenace on 56 ford relative to any car sold today.

Also stupid cheap leases. In the next 1-3 years, used EVs (like my leased Polestar 2) will be had for a song.  No way I’d buy it at lease end for its residual ($40k!). Polestar can have it!

Charging speed is the primary reason I did not buy a Bolt. Was really into the EUV too, but I use my EV primarily for road trips and sitting for an hour was not interesting to me.

When I pull into an Electrify America with all stations full and see a Bolt or even a Niro plugged into a 350kw charger, my heart sinks. What a waste of charging capacity.
