I would object to your claim that embargoes are meant to keep information from the public to serve PR people. The new Mustang unveil is tomorrow, December 5, and Ford allows outlets access to advanced photos so they can be ready when that day comes. It's more a courtesy to give outlets a headstart than some kind of

Both Audi and Mercedes are using that bird's-eye view camera thingy. I tried it out on an A8 and it's incredible — parking is a breeze anywhere at any time. It can't be long before that follows rearview cameras as standard equipment on new vehicles.

Bring it to ALMS!

Most of those new pickups are now far more fuel efficient than their predecessors, largely due to the green craze ushered in by the Prius. How is that possibly a bad thing?

@vestwithsleaves: They used to be held at a Starbucks parking lot right on PCH near Crystal Cove in Newport Beach. A few years ago it moved to a Mazda office parking lot in Irvine off Irvine Center Drive. Check [irvine.carsandcoffee.info] for more.

@subarusti62: Yeah it was a street legal two-seater, with license plate and lots of safety equipment, along with a weaker engine. Lots of fun but certainly a far cry from the real thing.

@Nighthawkwill7: Unless I'm mistaken I think the plan is to run it for the full season next year.

@Arfdog: Totally agree. I have no problem with the majority of people wanting to drive boring cars as long as there is still excitement in the market for enthusiasts like us.

Love the enthusiasm, but the reason you don't need to mention GT1 is not because "who cares?," it's because it no longer exists. Corvette left the class to join the more competitive GT, which now includes all production cars (save for the spec Porsche GT3 Cup cars). I'll be watching along, can't wait!
