This.

I, I, I think I love this guy.........

DAMON!!

The frequency decreased in direct prallel to tire failure rate. The problem didn't go away...

You are essentially correct. I’ll agree with every thing you state in theory.

De nada, Alice.

Incorrect. Internal Ford memos stated severe instability problems before the truck was launched.

Incorrect. Internal memos from Ford stated after designing the Explorer, serious stability problems existed during panic maneuvers. Because of all he hype surrounding the introduction of the truck, Ford engineering decided the quick fix was to lower recommended tire pressure from 35 psi to under 30 which gave the

Good call.

There might be tens of thousands of old Explorers on the road, but while they outsold the ZJ over 2 to 1, there are still hundreds of thousands of gen 1 Grand Cherokees out there. A testament to long term durability and engineering.

Moved.....

I’ll agree with most of that.

To be completely fair, Explorers did not roll simply because they had Firestone tires. While the failure rate was higher with the Firestone, the Explorer did not look down after a tire blows, and say ‘ Hey that’s a Firestone we must roll now’

Think Sierra/Silverado. There is no reason for the Sierra to exist. But together they outsell the f150 year after year.

FCA is killing the Dodge Caravan. As in eliminating it. The second best selling minivan nameplate in history. So Dodge officially becomes the performance marque Good thing Viper is once again a Dodge Or is it ??

Dodge was hurt by the suspension of Caravan production? Wait until they cancel the Caravan altogether.

Bbbut Doug.......

Right. The other ‘durable’ one Tavarish is referring to had an engine replaced at 24k.

‘Driveline durability limits quite high’??

Not really. Thedodgegarage.com. This dude had a blast building 10 second cars on a shoestring budget.
