It’s something that I never knew I needed that I absolutely love using with WeChat in China. Go out for a meal with a group of friends? Enter the amount, tap “Go Dutch”, poke the people in the group, accept even payments from each of them, done.

Personally it’s a need for situations where you would in previous decades use cash. I don’t usually have cash. If I need cash for something I need to plan for it.

I can’t speak for others, but I know our family does a lot of shared gifts (holidays and birthdays) and the simpler the payment/reimbursement process, the better. With most of the family being iOS—with the exception of one nephew (who never goes in on anything with anyone anyway) and my wife—this makes things a LOT…
