It’s a really obnoxious thing to say as it implies that bad teams are stocked with guys who don’t care about “winning”. Playing well = making your current team better = maybe winning more.

And they’re a shitty “investment” too, as you’ll never get anything remotely close to what you paid for them if you ever opt to try and sell them.
