I agree, but as an oldster who’s been around the internet for awhile I also think premium social media just could never be priced in a way that makes it competitive with Facebook’s free version.

The answer I have usually heard for that question is usually "a thousand years"
^This guy get it, too.
I’ve seen a good number of reviews and takes that criticize this as a white savior narrative—and I don’t agree, but only because I’ve read the entire series (or rather, what Herbert completed of it prior to his death.)
I haven’t seen a move in theaters since Parasite in early 2020. So excited to see this. Thanks for the review, Rich. I can tell the source material means as much to you as it does to me!
I think anything that emphasizes their agency and individuality is go-to for me. Provoking thought and finding out what’s whirring around in their gourd ALWAYS gets something interesting out of them.
The amount of serial killers portrayed in books, movies and tv shows far exceeds the actual amount of serial killers during that same time period. I am so done with the genre.
Feels like it’s time to re-write the script so Wakanda is afflicted by a deadly disease unleashed by the villain, and Shuri has to go around convincing everyone to get vaccinated.
I’m a nurse at a major general hospital. We’ve seen a lot of death and suffering. Talking to fellow nurses, and doctors, the people in our lives “just asking questions” have no interest in listening or believing our stories. I’ve given up on those people, because analyzing past data, you come to the realization: they…

1st Gear: This is an excellent example of how stupid American politics have become. Driving an electric vehicle shouldn’t be a political issue. Divesting from fossil fuels to preserve the environment shouldn’t be a political issue.

It’s very important that when we protest the actions of the wealthy elite ruling class that we do it in a way in which they always feel safe, secure, and comfy. Can’t have them shaken up or slightly inconvenienced in any way, that would be gauche.
That is happening with AppleTV’s streaming of Foundation. Viewers who aren’t familiar with the source books can enjoy the story. People who have read at least some of the books are shitting themselves about the mangled chronology and new characters.
Two windmills were standing in a field talking about music. One windmill asked the other what his favorite genre of music is. The other windmill responded, “I’m a big metal fan”.
“Then the black hole in the same ship looked just like the black hole in Interstellar.”
I’ve gotta go somewhere right now, but I’m coming back later to make sure that nobody talked shit about “Detroit Rock City”.
She’s better than the material, of course. It’s not as if she’s ever tough to watch.
We’ll Never Have Paris is fucking awful. Sure, Simon Helberg is mostly responsible for that, but it’s still a very bad movie.
