I haven't disliked a single Refn film. He's a great visual director.

Totally down with this film and am super excited to see it!

King really did describe it well when he said his book was fire and Kubrick's film was ice in the Rolling Stone interview. That was perfectly put. I was able to appreciate both in different ways and I love that the film didn't turn out exactly the same as the book, Kubrick's cold view of humanity came through in the

You're totally allowed to have a differing opinion! I love a good debate, I'm just going to have to go ahead and use a blatant fallacious argument though, and say that the majority of people simply do not agree with you. It regularly ranks at the top of people's favorite horror movies of all time and rules the polls

You're stating this as if it's a fact and not your opinion. I can almost guarantee I've seen more horror movies than you have, and you would clearly be in the minority in stating The Shining isn't one of the best if not the best horror movie ever made. As far as NBK, the variety of film stocks used and the level of

OMG I'm soooo excited! Watching the director's cut of Nightbreed right now! It's three days past Halloween but Idc, this just made my night!

I'm dying for someone to try and film The Great and Secret Show. It could be really amazing if someone good tried it with a killer budget. I would even try to do it if I had 100 million to blow. ;P

Nightbreed was awesome! I love Barker. Can't wait to see the director's cut!

I would love it if a reboot of Hellraiser was helmed by someone who was actually a talented filmmaker. I still think it has the potential to be great, but it's got to have a decent budget, actors, and a hell of a good director attached.

But the live feeds are shut off. So they're just going to let them fool around for the next few months? Some visitor or the Bee-Keeper is bound to tell one of them it's been canceled. lol.

What in the world did you have to do, Heradite? Also, how in God's name did this show cost 50 million dollars to make? All i saw was about 2 dozen motorized and stationary cameras with a rented farm plot. At the most it should've cost them around 1 mil tops. Talk about a bloated budget…

Hilarious!

Everything you said is true, and yet I believe it to be a fantastic documentary, because it shows the level of passion and obsessive-compulsiveness that fans of this film have even after all these years. In particular I really enjoyed the parts where they talked about the fact that the hotel sets often used things

The only film that comes close to that level of terror for me would be Session 9.

Addiction is sad and sometimes frightening, but not necessarily out-right scary or horrific, Kubrick's The Shining is the scariest horror movie I've ever seen hands down.

Can you imagine what the Shining would've turned out like if Kubrick had used King as the screenwriter and consultant instead of the woman he ended up using instead? Think Maximum Overdrive with hella great crane and steadicam shots.

Haha!

Also, Kaci Hickox isn't too far away from him. Maybe he should write a book about Ebola spreading in a tiny Maine town. ;P

BOOM. Best comment all week.

King is pissed off because while writing the novel he himself was an alcoholic and he modeled Jack Torrance after himself to an extent, and Kubrick stripped the story of alcoholism and made it more of a mental descent into madness, the fact of the matter is Jack's descent into madness worked better than an abusive
