And don’t forget, Zod’s mastery of his abilities was progressing rapidly and he was already a better fighter than Supes. I thought the movie made it pretty clear that Zod needed to be stopped NOW or else there would be no stopping him, Superman or no. Trying to lure him away would just prolong the fight and give Zod…
