My reaction exactly. Chrono Trigger changes EVERYTHING. The only game I can think of where the sequel was, by all rights, an amazing game, but it wasn't Chrono Trigger amazing, so was therefore a letdown.

I really like Wind Waker, but upon getting to the Triforce quest, I had to put the game down for awhile. Months later during one bout of determination to finish the game, I did. I guess it just needed time to mature.
