Careful: Jim Glickenhaus might as well be called St. Glick around here, and not without reason, but few (if any) of those reasons involve an exchange of money, and even if there were, it would be far less than the big boys spend to wine and dine auto journos. The fact is that Mssr. Glickenhaus has done something very…
With you until the last paragraph. Not every media outlet that fanboys over something is automatically a shill - plus they readily state their involvement/relationship with other companies when relevant (e.g.” Full disclosure: Chevy wanted me to drive their car so badly that blah blah something clever and edgy that…
The old joke about Detroit was that you didn’t want to buy a car that was assembled on a Monday or Friday, because the worker was either hung over or in a hurry to get out and start drinking. Now I guess you don’t want to buy a car that was assembled late in the day by a hungry worker who didn’t eat lunch.
That seems like the kind of attitude that allows them to keep getting away with it.
Máté here is an example of how we do our fuel rating math in the US. It also gives you an idea of the RON and MON for typical US fuels. http://www.racegas.com/article/10
Kind of seems like a lot of wasted effort could be applied to so many things in life. Do you really need sporting events to see who can score the most points?
Do you know what website you’re on?
Relevant info here. You know that California no one really loves?
If you walk straight out that door and take a hard left, you’ll get back to Gawker.
no, it’s in the auction terms. Still, watch a chasing-classic-cars where the comment is “there are no real bidders in the room.” All of the big auction houses use ringers. That said, there is an unwritten rule that if there is a written-in bid, that the ringer can’t push the bid to the maximum.... but as morals seem…
Yes. Any auction I use, “No reserve” really means “no reserve”.
That whole “No reserve, nobody outbid you, but you still didn’t win” business sounds really shady. Isn’t that a violation of contract law or something?
Hang an AMRAAM on a 737 with a proper radar and you’ve got a formidable interceptor.
TL;DR: “Because Freedom.”
With a good missile/radar combo, you can make anything a good interceptor.
A rally fighter is more than 2x the car though. I’m just comparing it to a hopped up SxS that will have more seating, 4wd nearly as much power and more suspension for about the same price. You can get a stock Razr 1000 4 door for ~$23 grand.
Actually I think that sounds reasonable, a Rally Fighter is about $100k.
So I looked it up and it looks to be about 42 grand. Given that it may or may not be road legal (the Atom is in a gray area as well) it seems like a lot for a 2wd buggy.
I wonder if a team might fire their coach, in part, to avoid being on Hard Knocks. I mean, if it’s a tough decision, might the threat of having their mediocre/incompetent coaching staff showcased on HBO(see Mike Smith) be the deal breaker?
