When watching the movie I realized I’d have preferred if they’d have just ditched all the spider-magic and made it about Dakota Johnson and Adam Scott running around NY doing paramedic stuff.

“Trick party telekinesis” can really come handy at times!

She does know how to open it . . . with her mind!

Seeing a Nathan Rabin article on the AV Club was the best part of my day. The fact that it’s MWotF? Even better!

There does seem to be some inconsistency in who gets stuck with the label; she does seem like a prime candidate for it, then again its a dumb term and any instance of it going away should be welcomed.

What, no mention of how Dakota Johnson doesn’t know how to open a can of pop?

Instead, it feels like the filmmakers could not legally use the actual iconic words so they had to substitute something similar.”

Haven’t seen Madame Web, but excited to see Rabin’s return to this site.

After 65 million years, he returns!

I just made a new account after being locked out of mine for ten years just to say HOLY SHIT!!!! It’s RABIN! ON AV CLUB! AGAIN! Sorry to raise my voice.

My Year of Flops with Rabin??  Did I fall through a time portal???

Ah, the halcyon days when the nickelodeon only cost a nickel!

Hell yeah. Great to see more old AV Club features and writers return, and what a return for Rabin and My Year of Flops. Caught Madame Web once it hit Netflix (like a smart person) and this movie is hilarious and fascinatingly bizarre. Hard disagree with the linked AVC review from its release, it IS in the so bad it’s

Rabin is back.  A flop was bad.  Alls right with the world.

My World of Flops

There were no flops in 1899.

The term he wanted was “precognition,” though you could kiiiiinda argue that she’s also clairvoyant, because she has visions of the future of places other than right here.

The movie didn’t give us closure for the cat subplot. It can only be ranked as an abject failure.

Oh my sweet Lord, what did we do to deserve this?? Bring back O'Neal too and all is forgiven, AV Club.
