I feel like 1985-1987 was peak Costner, and my interest in his work has been a long downhill slide ever since.
Except that the CW’s 58-year-old audience was watching the CW! Clearly they (we) liked that programming, even if it was ostensibly targeted at a younger audience. Rather than stick with what drew us to the network, they’re going to give us the same crap we could have watched elsewhere if we had wanted to.
The main problem is that Raimi didn’t even want to include Venom in the movie, but Sony did.

I don’t think they’re going to be able to do it without it being more Storm-centric so I’d be surprised if they don’t recast at least that role (no offense to Shipp).

I didn’t look at their entire catalog. I looked up 2 movies that I had had past trouble getting my hands on. Pull the stick out of your ass.
A quick perusal of their catalog shows they have some out-of-print titles that are sometimes hard to find and/or expensive, such as The Fall (2006) and Dogma.
Shit happens — including a global pandemic and a couple of major industry strikes. I’d prefer they spend time to try to get it right than rush it into production just because they made an announcement.
