Is it pronounced “four ex ee” or “four by ee?”
It might not be illegal, but there is a good case to be made that it is unethical to charge people different prices based on their level of vulnerability. Most importantly, however, it’s a very short-sighted business practice especially as the specter of manufacturer direct sales become a more realistic possibility.
The wildly different ads for the same car are an instant disqualification for me. ND.
The reality is that neither is a panacea. In certain scenarios and for certain purposes one is better than the other. Private transport is not absolutely better than public transport and vice versa.
When I lived in Chicago, for example, I spent time with no personal vehicle, relying on public transportation…
Same for me, but I’ve also never had a particularly good dealer experience and have had several miserable dealer experiences. If I had enjoyed a good experience, that dealer would be my starting point, at least, when shopping for a new car.
I understand being held accountable by the state in which you committed the traffic violation even after you return to your home state, but what is the scenario in which you can be prosecuted by your home state for a traffic violation committed in another state? Honest question.
This is like the Hot Wheels car you got in your stocking when your brother got the sweet guards red 911 GT3 Hot Wheels.
Are Jay-Z and Drake your idea of mediocre men? Not dismissing the cheating, and maybe they’re mediocre looking, but mediocre in terms of accomplishments?
Front end has Oldsmobile Aurora vibes
Does seem to be in good shape, but a 300K mile car for $30K still doesn’t compute.
Absolutely agree. Wish I had it now, though.
Was shopping with my dad for my first car at age 15/16 in 1991 and we went to see a 1967 Chevelle. It was factory original in a green-blue color, black vinyl interior. Only modification were hand controls for the brake and gas (easily removable) because its current and original owner was now an old lady. I think…
Only, we’ll be paying $18/gallon of gas as new cars go all electric.
I think you got these figured reversed:
For me it’s cold, windy winters that last 7 months, but same challenge. Because of the charging networks, it also seems fair to say that there are really two categories of plug-in electrics: Tesla and everyone else. Everyone else needs to figure out their charging infrastructure to help with range anxiety.
I vividly remember picking up OK Computer with great excitement the day it released and rushing home from class to listen to it. Even with such great anticipation, I was not disappointed. Can’t believe that’s 25 years ago now. Still sounds fresh to me, but then, I’m old.
I think this is the main point here. Every time I hear, “This e-car has a 300-mile range and that’s enough for anyone,” I think, “but does it really have a 300-mile range?”
She explained in the article why flying wasn’t a practical option, and it wasn’t cost. That said, the headline certainly suggests that cost was the motivation. On that score, I completely agree with the points you make in your post.
So you would take the erroneously discounted gas, but it would be wrong for someone else to do it? Somehow, I think, that’s worse than going and telling all your friends about it.
