Is that a simple single pivot rear suspension just with a monoshock on one side? Or is there some hidden linkage trickery going on?

That would just be pre-painting them for the Russian market when someone ships them across the straight...
I had an EcoBoost F150 rental a while back and kept gunning it and lifting for that whine and woosh sound.
I remember going to check out the 1/8th mile local dragstrip one night on a business trip. This was what happened with the guy who showed up on what looked like a youth size dirt bike. He was up against these monstrous long wheelbase built bikes and they almost all got blue balls and jumped the light from having to…
I feel like they’re going about this all wrong: proper racecars like the ones they’re using to test are expensive, absurdly powerful, finicky machines subject to complex aerodynamics, tire temperatures etc.
The Scandinavians have their moose test, Chevy have the Cletus test...
How long before some rednecks remove the hood and mount lawn chairs in the frunk?
Last summer I rented a Ford Edge on vacation with this feature and we went to the beach a lot but because it was a rental the code was a mystery. It’s frustrating having the perfect tool for the job but not being able to use it!
Funnily enough this feels like one of the slowest developing cars of all time, I remember the Tuatara being the top car on a drag racing app game like 3 smartphones ago!
Damn! What a story to go out on. Although I see why you sat on it: “Land Rover flew me to South Africa for the swankiest of product reveals and I had way more fun cheating on them with a stone age Toyota”
I’m watching it too and I’ve gotta say it’s making me root hugely for Rivian: let’s send our first 2 ever “production” models on a televised torture test up the Americas. That's ballsy
Probably less depressing than passing it gathering dust the garage every day knowing you can’t justify fixing the apex seals again and will eventually have to scrap it....
There's a shitload of cheap RX8s out there waiting for this opportunity. Great chassis by all accounts but I'm seeing them for a couple of thousand these days.

Massively underrated comment
Someone asked on our company intranet news page recently; since we supply Tesla and a bunch of other electric car companies whether we’d be pursuing sales to Nikola too? It took a great deal of professional self control not to respond that we’d better get cash up front if we do...
I agree you need someone locally certified but the fact that the last two fatalities in F1 weren’t caused by the initial crash but the zoom boom during the cleanup suggests changes are needed to how they are managed. They added the virtual safety car but I think now they need to look improving or at least standardizing…
I asked this question on here either after the Jules Bianchi incident or when the marshall got crushed by the boom lift in Montreal. Both deaths featured mobile cranes and I was amazed that (in Canada at least) the boom operator was basically johnny off the local construction site with a day of training and a free…
I suspect like this combo makes a lot more sense in other markets; you’d expect there to be a manual available on a big saloon in Europe for example. Sure it’s not going to feel like a sports car, it’s going to feel like a regular luxury car with a stick shift like the other 5 options on the market.
