You would be amazed how good nickel metal hydride batteries have got since those days. I put a set of EBL 2800mAh AAs off Amazon in my kid’s rock crawler and they usually get bored before they run out.
Also helpful for (lightly) swimming in high salinity sea water...
I was gonna say, weight wise stainless steel wouldn’t make much difference but it’s waaaay harder to stamp.
Seconded - I’ve had a couple of rental EcoBoost Mustangs and they are a hoot (since I like my upgrade status I will neither confirm nor deny their ability to do burnouts). I love the turbo woosh and it’s hilarious how small that motor is in the engine bay.
