I don’t understand your logic. You could go out right now and buy a brand new 2018 Fiesta ST. They’re not dumping all the current cars off the end of aircraft carriers like the last days of ‘Nam. You could easily buy a 2018 FiST and have easy access to parts for a normal 5-6 year ownership period.

My mom got one to replace the ES she let me drive and she’s had it nearly a decade now. I recently convinced her to buy the new Audi Q5 because the newest RX is woefully behind on tech. But that car has been absolutely everything she’s needed and hasn’t really given her any issues. It would still be the luxury

I’ve gotten my ES on three wheels before. Was home for summer, going to pool party, missed my turn, friend yelled it out at last minute, and everyone in the car kind of saw their lives flash before them as I tried to Ken Block my way into the term. The ES was no athlete, but it would do the 2 hour drive from my school

Lexus leather is amaaaaaazing. Sitting in the seats in my (mom’s) old ES was like my body becoming whipped butter melting on-top of a piping hot pancake. Idk if that metaphor makes any sense but there was never a second in those leather seats where I felt uncomfortable. The seat warmers were just like an added whip

Say what you want about these things, but they are objectively great luxury cars. I drove my mom’s 2002 ES300 all through college and it was truly a privilege. Granted it was a marshmallow on wheels, but not every middle-manager has dreams of being a race car driver and Lexus appealed to that very well. It just ate up

I think you can crawl in 2nd no problem. For perspective, I had a Mustang with 3.15s and I crawled in first at about 1000-1500 rpm. So, you have to feel it out and work with your ratio. I would think with 3.73s, any 1st gear crawling would be fine but the engine would be spinning at a higher rpm than really necessary.

This car is going to still look futuristic 20 years from now. What a machine....

I know people are going to groan and go “It’s a loan, how hard can it be, this is common sense” but when I help my friends and family car shop, the first thing they all bring up is monthly payment. The first thing they do to lower it is lengthen the term of the loan. They don’t think at all about how much more they

The manual is only available on the base model S. The forthcoming GLI will more than likely offer a manual with a larger turbocharged engine.

It’s brilliant. The MK6 interior wasn’t bad either, it’s just the materials they used were awful. But this MK7 one is a masterpiece.

This Jetta looks to be a serious player, finally. VW stuffed it full with all the best goodies and gadgets and priced it right. The beam rear, lack of rear vents, monochrome trip computer and all those cost cutting details are annoying, but the car is much better because of it. With all that being said, the beam rear

It’s not that bad. I went from a GTI to a 17 Mustang and at first it felt so wide, I thought I was going to hit everything. But I got used to it really fast and while they are big cars (not Challenger big but still) once you get used to it, you really stop noticing. I’ve squeezed my Mustang into all types of tight

I can get my 17 V6 to spin wheels quite easily, so yes it is fun (not GT fun, but still fun), but it needs a few essential mods to make up for Ford treating it like an afterthought. A ECU tune is a must because the stock tune is so neutered it honestly begs belief. Unless you were lucky enough to get the cars with the

Takes like 5-7 minutes. I used a flat pliers but I probably could have just used my hand. Makes the clutch so much easier to use. Must have mod imo.

Contemporary and acceptable. It checks all the boxes it has to. I can’t wait to see the new ST. The current gen ST is a great new and used car value and is probably the most fun hot hatch out right now. One of the huge advantages of the ST is that it can be found new well under MSRP. I hope the pricing on the next gen

My RA at my first and only year at Morgan State was from LA. We thought he was insane. Most of my friends were from the area and we couldn’t figure out why he would ditch SoCal to live in Baltimore City.

I’m going to preface this with: YMMV. I am in no way saying that my experience is emblematic of the entire black community.

Please don’t be that person. Just don’t. Just enjoy your Steely Dan in peace and go tell the neighborhood kids on spring break to get off your lawn.

The greatest tragedy of this show was that everyone forgot that Xzibit was actually a good rapper :(

This. I had a friend give me a crash course in a FIAT 500 the day I bought my manual GTI. She drove it home and from there I was on my own. Lots of stalls and sweaty palms later, I finally got the hang of it. Now, it’s complete second nature. I even picked up some advanced bad habits :)
