Love and Mercy, which is a Brian Wilson Biopic is pretty different from most (though it’s terribly flawed in other ways). It’s an exploration of his illness and treatment, but in all fairness portrayed as a romantic genius who’s overmedicated.

“Do you want a president who is good or lucky?”

Firstly, polling and polling aggregates do not predict who will win. They say there is an X chance of Y happening within Z margin of error. Unless you can show those predictions fell outside the margin of error, you’re not proving the poll wrong, but the misinterpretation of the summary. Proving a misinterpretation

If the demographics change, so does the model. They incorporate recent polling data and track changes. You’re talking as if it’s all just a bunch of maths and assumptions.

“The ones who are merely morally bankrupt as opposed to literal gibbering monsters.”

Maybe he’s a lightning rod. They’re letting him take the heat of the primary smear juggernaught.

“please keep in mind that in mid-2007, the mantra was “Hey, no way the black guy can win, right?””

While that statement is true in general terms, many election models have proven consistent. They operate within margins of error.

“because he was tired of people drifting away at parties when he started talking about it”

The big society is Cammo’s phrase for “Do it yourself you lazy peons.” It’sa suggestion everyone mucks in and getting involved as an alternative to national services.

I’ve always assumed the same thing. That “Trump” is a character. Not a plant, but a show he puts on for attention. He plays up the dumb and the extremes. The thing is though, that assumes he’s both smarter than he looks and that he’s unaware of the damage he’s doing right now. I’m not sure they fit together.

“Never worked in Washington, D.C. — never lived in Washington, D.C.”

If there is one thing that would have made everyone safer here, it would have been untrained crossfire from amateurs with hero complexes.

I think it’s largely taking issue with the fact that he’s Aaron Sorkin and he said a thing.

Does it have to be necessary? They look like fun. While that’s clearly not worth the cost in other peoples lives, it’s not nothing.

Ehhh. Look I find Trump, his “campaign” and the fact that he’s leading the clown pack as funny, if not more so than the next guy. But if you’re going to report on polling data, it’s important to understand context.

It’s okay, I have a trans friend.

Not all budgets are decided in the same way. Just because there are films that are funded without stars doesn’t mean this one was or could have been.

God I love that film.

I’m still convinced that the Brietbart comments section is some sort of performance art.
