In fairness, and more on a sort of general point because this book does sound more on the exploitative side, I think there’s a lot of value in portraying nazi characters in a sympathetic light. We basically treat them as demons - a universally despised and irredeemable monster.

A couple of oddities from my visist:

Exactly, it’s trivia that is irrelevant to anyone reasonable, but the media who need to fill airtime and the public they present that to are anything but. At the very least this would prove a major distraction from anything she attempts to say. If true, this could seriously impact the election, which is a terrifying

It is now crucial that as a country we protect religious freedom and the right of conscience and also not discriminate.”

It’ll have a lot of bugs because Bethesda games always do, not because of anything related to preorders. My rule is only preordering when I know what I’m getting, and in f4’s case it will be an excellent game that happens to be a bit buggy, like the rest of them.

Not all spidey stuff, just that related to the film franchise, and while the profits from the film itself weren’t huge, it still took 700 million worldwide. They didn’t lose money.

But then the first guy would point to the money made in merchandising.

They have to keep making movies in order to keep the license. If they ever stop, it’ll revert to Marvel, who will make a billion dollars off of it. Even if they’re not making all that much now, no one wants to be the guy in the meeting where someone points to those profits and tells them they could have been there’s.

I’ve talked to a few and it essentially boils down to a lack of direct experience and ignorance of (and lack of empathy for) the experience of others.

Hey, look, if we’re going to go to the trouble of constructing an “alternative” identity, we’re going to make damn sure people don’t challenge that by suggesting it’s more normal.

Games of thrones is an interesting example in it’s extremity. Everything sucks all the time, but he creates peaks and troughs by having things -really- suck occasionally. I personally don’t think it works all that well because there is an expectation of dark twists happening to anyone heroic, but while I love it for

Well....presumably it’ll have cait sith in it. Meaning it already has to ride the faintly ridiculous train.

final fantasy used to be really good at mixing goofy and dark. it was a really effective part of their tone, giving you light little moments to contrast the darker ones, showing you the heroes happy before breaking them.

Any idea how long these are on sale for? I’m visiting family there in october!

The problem there is that you’re not just creating a new definition to describe a thing that’s not properly expressed, but attempting to change the meaning of a word already in common usage. That’s never going to go well, and can only lead to confusion, which is the opposite of what these words are intended to achieve.

Women is bi. News at 11.

Not so much anymore. I mean, there are places that look like the neon street, but the whole “5 years ahead” thing sort of disappeared a while back. I was in japan 10 years ago and they all had these square little flip phones with an array of features. These days they all have iphones like everyone else. They idolise

I can’t wait to live in a future dystopia where our every move is spied upon and mega corporations have wrestled control of the governments away from the people.

I mean, as weird as this is.....I’m kinda weirded out by the mom making a serious attempt to destroy her own daughter both socially and career wise.
