I totally agree. I think raising awareness can't hurt though. The point is to get more people to care about presenting characters in the right context. There's a big difference between creating well written characters who happen to be sexy, and creating characters who exist purely to titillate.

I understand that. They shouldn't be using it to try to shut you down. All that does is make it harder for actual victims and survivors.

Not all marriages involve a man and a women. What about poly relationships or relationships where the people involved are the same sex? I think people in general should be taught to help each other out. Plain and simple. The issue here isn't who doesn't do enough in a marriage the issue is with people not being taught…

I was raped by a woman when I was really young. While I don't hate women because of it I do hate just how often male victims of rape are either forgotten or demeaned because we're supposed to enjoy it. It's not an excuse to silence people but it is something people should remember.
