Solution: avoid Virginia at all costs.

Here's the letter I sent to Greenpeace this morning. I took no joy in writing it:

At this point they need to at least blank out what was written. The only thing worse than a semi-permenant missing rectangle at the site would be this constant bit of propoganda.

They did an awful lot of grandiose victory-speech making yesterday for an ultimately failed mission.

$5,000 Dollars? I Rather buy a Rolex from www.hdgenius.com. I can feel confident my Rolex will hold value in say the next 5-10 years.

Bank Accounts? QR Codes? What is this the 1800s?!

an OS takes over near 50% of the install base in 3 weeks and you call that a failure? You guys are way too spoiled lol. Anyhow, i believe 2 key factors will help boost iOS 8 adoption: app upgrades demanding the latest OS, and  watch. I do agree that iOS 8 was way too "heavy". I have no idea how Cupertino decided to

That's not what people generally mean when they say Apple products "just work". They both "work" in the literal sense. Think of it like a manual transmission vs an automatic transmission. Some people like manual because they like the feeling of controlling every bit of their driving. While other like automatic

Got it. iTunes isn't required for upgrades anymore.

Not with my Note 3. It's constantly freezing or not responding. Even after a restore.

Just curious, why was she using iTunes for an upgrade? They haven't required that in years.

This has always been Apple's way of doing things, and one of the reasons why they're perceived as "falling behind". They like to take their time to do things right, instead of rushing to be the first (with a few exceptions such as Maps). For example, they could've released a Google Wallet competitor a long time ago,

Some fishermen want a 4 level tackle box, 4 rods, backup reels, coolers, depth gauges, etc. Some just want a stick with some string and hook with a worm on it.

In that case the app drawer is really no different then

Sorry, but IMO it's easier to have an icon there then have to open an app drawer to scroll through. You do know that your home screen doesn't need to be full, you can put them on another screen right? Just pull down and use spotlight to search.......

I understand what you're saying, but having used both OSes, there's something to be appreciated by Apple's "it just works" philosophy. I encounter more weirdness and instability in Android and its wonky apps. If I were a tinkerer, I'd love it. But I am a busy working person with a family and many hats to wear.

That would be terrible. It would make the phone harder to hold and use. You need some unused space so that phones are comfortable to hold, especially with a single hand. Even edge-to-edge screens are problematic. Software that compensates for accidental presses helps, but creates other problems.

Different strokes for different folks.

I would just like a chronological feed of everything my friends post. I don't keep a lot of friends unblocked. I want to see all of what they post. That should be a one-click option on FB. So frustrating that they want to curate my content feed for me.

Edmunds.com is doing a long term test of a 2005 CL65. It's a very impressive car, but it's very high maintenance. Their ABC system has failed, the car eats batteries and oil, and they have unresolved malfunctions with the power closing trunk and sunroof. I'll be interested to see the total cost at the end of the
