Again, why is science coming off second best to mythology? This isn't a pipeline crossing native land, it's a telescope. Build the damn thing.

The title should say; “Some underemployed Hawaiian separatists have continued to block efforts to build a source of employment and pathway for local children to learn technology while grandstanding and hoping to overthrow US rule and ownership of the islands.”
Fuck all religion. Build the fucking telescope.
>I wanna learn about the universe’s creation just as much as the next person, but when a community pushes back, the scientific community needs to listen.
Once again superstition and ignorance win over science.
Nothing like a minority of the residents who are religious fanatics holding up a project, huh?
I consider Sacred Ground about as valid as Irish pixies as a reason to torpedo a project. You can’t negotiate anything when it’s a shrine.
“Many Native Hawaiians have been protesting”
Actually, only 28% of those hosts are saying “No more, please.”
I wanna learn about the universe’s creation just as much as the next person, but when a community pushes back, the scientific community needs to listen.
So where’s the plagiarism aside from the five words “back to you... the people”?
No - it’s about Trump and NAFTA, a COMPLETELY political topic, with a thin tie-in to automobile sales that may be affected (did you READ the article?) A very informative article too. But that’s not the point.
When the hell did Jalopnik become a political site? Every other “article” about politics. While this one is at least related to the auto industry - most of the bullshit spread out here makes it worth skipping the entire site . I come here to read/comment on CARS, not politics.....
I still don’t understand how a closer relationship with Russia is a bad thing.
Why is it that provoking Putin is good, but “provoking” China is bad? China has clearly it’s own issues with provocation and would annex taiwan if it could, which in about 10 years it may be able to.
edit: not saying we provoked Putin, but being “tough” with him definitely seems to be the popular stance. I don’t see…
Fucking lawyers man. How many degrees does Bill Gates have? Would anyone have the balls to try and tell Gates to his face that, “I’m smarter than you because I have a law degree and you don’t.”?
Bernie would have ended the “space race” and focused on American jobs.
Wow, I’ve never made the connection. Now I’m triggered.
I had the other teacher that said it doesn’t matter what the author intended. It only matters what the audience sees in their work.
I bet you blamed your clogged drain and the incoming blizzard on Trump supporters too.
