I get that. Pass interference, defensive holding, and personal fouls all result in the "Automatic First Down".
My point is that probably 95% of people watching a game know the rules enough to know which penalties result in an "Automatic First Down".
I just think it's a stupid phrase.
Maybe it could be made more…
