You don't think people will miss the FJ Cruiser? It's a great SUV. If they get rid of that and the Xterra, there won't be much left for people who want an off road SUV. You'll be left with the Wrangler and (sort-of) the 4Runner.

Average can equal overweight (or fat). Just because it's average, doesn't mean it's healthy. So it's just a decision about whether you want to represent "normal" as average, or "normal" as a healthy/ideal weight.

I wish I could do that, but I can't right now. I used to work 4 9-hour days, and Friday was only 4 hours, that was nice.

I dunno, kind of the difference between MotoGP and Superbike/Supersport.

Meh, I paid a couple grand less than that for my much cooler and more useful Wagoneer.

"9-5"? Why does that expression exist? It's 8 to 5...

This was going to be my entry as well. One comes to mind specifically: my buddy had just helped me do some work on my Miata, and so we took it for a quick spin to make sure it was running right. Pulled out on the road and I decided to do a little power slide. I did the slide in 1st, and tried to shift quickly into 2nd

I think under the "the good" you should add fuel economy and weight (which will be good in sand and mud). And under "the bad" you should add IFS (which people seem to hate, unfairly in my opinion).

I agree 100%. I've had a few "real" off road SUVs. And I really like what they are, and what they're capable of. But, they have serious shortcomings. Namely weight and fuel economy (and size to an extent).

I can not wait for someone to take one of these and go balls-out on the mods. I want to see one of these running the Baja 500, and doing it fast. It has so much potential to fill a segment that is completely empty. A small, light, nimble off roader that doesn't need solid axles because it doesn't weight 3 tons.

Personally, I'm on the fence with the styling. I need to see one in person to decide.

No, that's not what I wanted (although it's cool too). The Renegade is more in line with what I've been hoping for. A small, capable 4x4. I want a modern Samuri, with good fuel economy while still being capable.

That does seem like the better purchase!

I agree. The best camping spot I've ever had (not including backpacking trips) was up a difficult trail (it might have actually been a stream bed) that my lifted XJ just barely made it up. It was awesome being in such an isolated spot.

Very, very cool. Looks well built. Super low miles on the Unimog and it should run forever anyway. Capable of getting you anywhere, and you have someone to sleep once you get there! This is the perfect overland vehicle.

How is diesel popularity expected to grow if they won't put it in any vehicles where it could be a game changer? Right now you've got some TDIs out there in cars, and big ass diesels in your pick ups, but nothing in between.

I agree. This is exactly what the off road world needs. Assuming it can handle some of the common off road mods (minor lift, slightly bigger tires, winch, locker(s), bumpers) it would be perfect. Basically a modern Suzuki Samuri.

I mean, it's not just shallow water. It's shallow water, on top of thick ice, on top of deep water. The effect is more dramatic, because it's obviously a deep lake, not just a shallow pond or something.

If anything, I'd say that trucks are more driftable than most cars. Light rear end and decent horsepower. Not a truck, but I used to drift my Chevy Astro.

Too late. We all know now.
