I would like to point out that you really shouldn't use electrical tape for sealing electrical connections ideally. Maybe if it's interior, low voltage (or current?), and unimportant. But really permanent connectors and/or heat shrink is better. Less exposure to elements, less likely to come loose, etc.

I agree, it can be incredibly frustrating working with a crappy soldering iron.

Yup, centuries even! To be honest, in this case the mathematical theory behind gears was more interesting to me than the actual practical implementation. Which is rare, I normally prefer real-world over theoretical thought exercises. But as a I realized that even *designing* a gear tooth is simply an approximation of

A) I think I'm as qualified as anyone else here. As far as I know, no one has claimed to be a doctor, everyone is just giving their personal experiences, and I gave mine.

I actually may not have been clear in my original statement. When I said "point" I meant it in a 2 dimensional sense. In a real 3 dimensional gear, it would be a rolling infinitely thin line (although the length would be the width of the gear). And it should roll across the entire face of the gear tooth. Theoretically

This is a good post, but the subtext of the question (at least as it seemed to me) was how to be productive at work. Being seriously depressed and having your productivity at work drop like stone can easily result in unemployment, which just makes things worse of course. Or, even more obvious, if you're too depressed

While I agree that you should at least try meds to see if it helps, I don't really like them. They level out your mood, so you don't get very depressed, but you also probably won't get very happy either. For me, I was just kind of in a perpetual state of mild contentment. I also feel like it robbed me of a lot of my

It is! I've always been both a PC gamer and a console gamer, and that's the one thing PC proponents (or anti-console) always leave out of their "but PCs are more powerful!" argument. Developers know that every single console will be exactly the same, so they can push that console to it's absolute limits and know it

The whole "taking the plunge into making better coffee" thing is very highly overrated in my opinion. I did it, and honestly it only seemed marginally better than "average." Now, I know I don't have the most sophisticated tastes, but I'm guessing that's true for most people. Despite what all these articles say,

Maybe so, my knowledge of gear and chain/sprocket systems is pretty much entirely academic. I was curious about it, so I spent a lot of time researching it. But I've never had to apply it in a real world work situation, so you could be right. I'm sure the engineers who came up with it had a good reason for designing

More surface area in contact is generally a bad thing for gear systems. In a perfect theoretical system, you would have only 1 infinitely small point of contact at any given time, which rolls along between the gear. The "rolling" part (as opposed to pushing or sliding) is important. That's how you'll get the least

I actually liked them better before the 2014 change. I'm kind of partial to Subaru in general though, so maybe I'm a bit biased.

What's so bad about them? For what they are I think they look good. Comparable to an Escape or something. Not something I would personally buy, because that's not the kind of vehicle I'm interested in, but I don't have a problem with the styling.

Yeah, I'm definitely jealous! It's a trade off for the off road capability. I've been really jonesing for another motorcycle lately though, so if I get one I'll save a ton of gas for the half of the year that it's not snowy.

People who were tasked with building a massive network of highways an interstates stretching across a very large country, in a short amount of time, on a limited budget.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but there are plenty of IFS trucks that can be lifted just fine (like my Xterra). Yeah, it's not as easy (or necessarily as good), and it can sometimes be a work around.

Obviously it's just a combination of how far away you work, how big your tank is, what kind of fuel economy you get, and how low you let your tank get before filling up. I generally fill up around 1/4 tank, because I prefer to fill up when it's convenient vs. when I'm running on empty. Plus I get shitty MPGs. Plus I

An Xterra. Commuting alone is close to 500 miles a week, plus whatever I do on weekends/evenings. I'd say I probably use about 28-30 gallons a week on average. My tank is a little over 20 gallons, but I generally fill up at about 1/4 tank.

I suppose it bears a resemblance to the Mazda 3, hadn't really noticed the similarities before. But the 3 was good looking, and the WRX is good looking. More good looking cars for everyone!
