Yup, you're absolutely right! It looks like you even posted about it on mx5atlanta!

Am I missing something? That would be too much for a stock Rodeo, much less one with horrendous mods like this one.
My dad and my best friend's dad both work(ed) for Honda, and you would not believe how excited they are about that thing. It's a really cool jet.
For real. You can get a nice M3 coupe for $20k, and then you'll still have $28k left over to do all the mods you could ever want, and still have enough left over to buy a nice tow vehicle to take it to the track.
Huge CP. People waaaaay over value E30s. Yes, they're cool and they're pretty quick little cars. But they're not 25 years old and still $50k quick, even a nice and rare one like this. Plus, it's not even immaculate. That's some serious wear on the interior.
Nice! I know at least one guy on a forum did an Exocet build with an LSx (I think LS1) and it worked just fine. Probably fits better than it does in a regular Miata.
Well, if it were me I'd consider the 1.6 a temporary measure before an LS1 swap anyway. :) Also, don't forget about gear ratio changes with the 1.8. Yeah, that can be changed, but it does negate some of that extra power.
You think so? If he went through all of that to customize it, I assume he cleaned it up a bit underneath. Might make it a little easier than with a typical salvage donor. But since the pictures are so worthless, it's hard to tell.
That's true, but those pictures and ad are just really unclear about what was actually done. I can't really tell what's been done with the body. Plus, it might make a good base for a an Exocet. You can't get running Miatas for much cheaper than that.
Might be worth it for an Exocet build...
I can't figure out what to vote here. The pictures and add don't tell us a whole lot. On the one hand $1,900 for a really, really light Miata doesn't seem too bad. On the other hand, diamond plate isn't usually considered a light weight material. So I don't really know what they're going for, and the pictures are too…
Yup, they definitely were, which is what I liked about them! They feel a lot of "solid" then regular minivans. I never towed with it, but it had some power. Plus, being RWD was cool.
It wasn't horrible, but just pretty much what you'd expect. I was also 18 at the time and didn't really know what a well-handling car felt like, so it was all the same to me. It had decent acceleration, a comfortable ride, and was roomy and clean, so I was happy with it.
Goddamn, you beat me to it!
Yup, I used to power slide around turns in mine with 8 people packed in there. It was nicknamed the "monster van."
Yup, exactly! I don't even know where kids go now if they want to watch something that will actually teach them something. Internet shows I guess? I don't know, but it sucks. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people use those bogus conspiracy theory "documentaries" as a citation for some crazy claim or…
Same thing with the History Channel. I remember when I actually used to learn about History, and not just conspiracy theories and stupid reality TV "personalities."
I'm not so sure that the "hollywood premium" is really that high, especially not for something like this (as opposed to a movie car or something).
