From what I can tell this doesn't even have the thick foam designed to be on the bars that your HELMET can hit. It just looks like they wrapped the cage with suede...

Roll cage without a helmet is just plain dangerous, especially with the bars that close. From what I can see, any incident will result in head-cage contact and some serious head trauma.

That's why you wear a full face helmet.

You know, I remember a time when that was true in the US as well. At least in the northeast before the rise of the SUV in the 90's. When there were only 5-10 options for SUV's they were all called Jeeps.

They sign waivers, but even waivers aren't ironclad and this is above and beyond what could be reasonably expected.

I love Stone!

I see the front has changed from previous versions. I'd be interested to know the aerodynamic differences.

Agreed. Frankly, one of these cars would be a prime candidate for an iron block LSx swap. CHEAP, More power, better mileage, and the engine wasn't why you bought the car in the first place so it's not loosing it's character.

Yeah, I suppose there's a good chance they won't work on them at a dealership. They will order the Euro-spec parts for you though. I only know this because I did it, and was a bit surprised at that, haha. I'd be willing to bet those modifications have something to with how finicky these cars can be.

While I too would prefer the 560, the parts lead time from MBUSA is about the same for the grey market cars as for the pre-1990 US stuff. The dealers have no problem ordering things for either though.

I love these cars. I recently did a lot of work bringing a VERY similar grey market car that had been parked for 15 years back to life.

Just because something is (somewhat) more dangerous than driving doesn't mean it needs to be made even more so by road raging drivers. Lane splitting is not an excuse for deliberately trying to harm someone.

Thats a bit of an exaggeration. There are plenty of NA 3 liter z's running in the 150-160mph range on a race track in SCCA with only an airdam like the one on the Devil Z. Hell there is a 400hp, NA stock bodied Z that did 170 plus at bonneville on salt.

This is the third jet powered 280zx I've seen. I think the ZX must have the highest jet-conversion/cars-produced ratio ever.

Cosby may have captured it best.

Jeez, that's a big boy.

Ten points Griffindor!

How about while parking?

Ok I'll preface this by saying I'm at work and can't look at the official FB page for the project just yet. That said, from what I can tell he is basically rebodying an MR2 and presumably doing some modifications while he's at it including the engine swap.

Jeremy Clarkson has one of the most expressive faces I've seen. One of my recent favorites was the smug winning face.
