The hack had “Trump 2020" in it. It’s already political. So either you didn’t read the article (and are therefore ignorant) or you’re wilfully ignoring facts (and are therefore either delusional or deceitful, depending on intent.) Stop with the false concern, it doesn’t look good on you.

“It concludes with an unrelated but unsubtle political message: “TRUMP 2020.”

“Loris said he’s a Trump supporter . . .”

The same people that argue being tolerant means you have to tolerate their intolerance. Classy bunch.

Ah yes, conservatives. The folks who champion personal responsibility until that responsibility is “don’t be a prick.” Then it’s everyone else’s fault for being annoyed or upset at their behavior.

It’s good that she understands the problem and has no malice towards Nintendo on this one. To answer the question posed in the article, the difference is largely optics (if she’s a big Tiktok entertainer then Nintendo would absolutely notice her more than random etsy or deviantart pages) and two her intent to

Also, by turning this into a charity thing, the costs will be tax deductible in most countries. So cheap advertising!

I’m sure the kids that Special Effect work with really care about where the money came from.

Paging Dr. Buzzkill...

do we really expect a site that discusses all things Black AF to do the typical Democrat thing and pretend like Biden is the next best thing to a President John Lewis?

“They’re only complaining about is on Gizmodo. None of the commenters are complaining about it on Deadspin.”

The mobile version has already been nearly unusable due to pop-ups and pop-overs to begin with. The recent additions of more autoplaying videos has only made it worse.

Gizmodo has been on this layout for some weeks. I have muscle memory built already to click “latest”, so I’ll just do that here.

Yea. Of all the types to copy, this is easily one of the worst layouts to use.

“Sir, the commenters are revolting! There isn’t a SINGLE person that likes the updated layout!”

“Perfect! Let’s get started rolling this out to all the other sister sites.”

I feel like there’s an ongoing competition to make the desktop version more unusable than the mobile version, and then the mobile version more unusable than the desktop version to make up, and so on.

I think they are trying to copy Wired’s layout, which is horrendous to begin with. Stuff is all over the place, it makes it near impossible to just go and find new articles.

Exactly. I assume it is a push from the top. This format allows Spanfeller to slip ads in between legit content, and collect clicks and $$.

It's a blog. The vast majority of people want it in chronological order, everything else is in the way. And it actually matters, because the autoplaying, centered, scrolling video that pops up in front of the articles on mobile... Make mobile completely unusable.

I knew this day was coming, when it happened to Gizmodo.  Sad to see the backlash there didn’t make anyone pause to rethink the layout before moving it to more sites.
