The weirdest thing about all of this is that there's no book called Ascendant. This was really going to be "Allegiant Part 2" because of that splitting-the-final-book-into-two-movies thing that all these YA franchises do. But then "Hunter Games: Mockingjay Part 1" didn't do very well, so Lionsgate decided to make up a

And they're (supposedly) going ahead with a Flash movie starring Ezra Miller while keeping the Grant Gustin TV show on the air. Those are both *very* high profile productions.

Yuri Lowenthal is in this? Superman himself?!

Yeah, I knew you and Jaime Weinman liked it.

I really don't think he would have, because that incident happened in 2006. He'd already had 8 years to break away from Kramer, and he spent most of them keeping a low profile and not doing much work of any kind.

Well, it's also weird because Perry is a natural Felix. They cast two Felixes!

There are still these words, these words, these words.

I watched the MGM musical It's Always Fair Weather this past weekend, and I got unreasonably excited when Frank Nelson showed up as a TV announcer.

I was going to comment the same thing. Both of those seem like odd choices for making that particular point.

This will be the sixth story that the BBC has animated (but the first one to have more than two missing episodes). They released 4 stories that way in 2013-2014.

I'm so excited for this. Even just in audio format, this is a tremendous story - maybe the best Dalek story the show ever did. I'm delighted that more people will see it now.

If my 3-1/2-year-old nephew is any indication, kids these days are crazy about Space Jam.

Right! If Spider-Man's 16, it makes *infinitely* more sense for his aunt to be Marisa Tomei's age rather than Rosemary Harris's age.

A different Mel (Mel Stuart) directed Willy Wonka.

(Emma Thompson played Travers in that other movie though)

Agreed. There were a couple of jokes, but mostly just tragic backstory.

The Wiz was my introduction to that guy, and he completely knocked me out. What a great performance.

Yeah, 1996 was prime-era Nick-at-Nite for me (I was 11). The lineup around that time would have been Lucy, Bewitched, Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Bob Newhart Show, I Dream of Jeannie, and maybe The Odd Couple or Welcome Back Kotter.

Rick Baker is still alive. Maybe you're thinking of Dick Smith or Stan Winston?

It was on TCM yesterday (which was where I saw it, which is why I looked up this review). Maybe you saw it in the listings?
