So this is a syndicated show, right? Like the original Arsenio? I'm surprised such a thing exists nowadays. You'd think stations would get higher ratings by running reruns of The Big Bang Theory or whatever.

Also Newt Gingrich, who got to insult Jerry.

That's all 7. One more than his sometimes-collaborator James L.

It's only Thursday. We should have one more coming tomorrow.

Until recently it was the only one I had seen. But I watched Lost in America a couple of weeks ago. I like this one more (although that's good too).

Did you copy that from the Tough Pigs article about the early draft of the screenplay? Because if so, I approve.

Lemonade!

The Holy Trinity of 1980s comic strips.

Pogo, Peanuts, C&H, Bloom County, and The Far Side.

Cul de Sac was a treasure. I bought one of the collections for my school
Iibrary, but it's been missing for a year. I guess some kid stole it. Which is nice for them, but not for all of the other middle schoolers who could be experiencing the joy of Alice and her family.

Would you include things like To Be or Not to Be and Hail the Conquering Hero that are about the war but don't contain any actual fighting?

Erik, your final paragraph nails how I feel about this song. Exactly.

Yeah, that's my favorite too. And also the least characteristic of Bret McKenzie, I think. I don't mean that as a criticism of the other songs - I love Flight of the Conchords a lot - but "Life's a Happy Song" was the only one that surprised me.

That and "Think About It"

I like that movie quite a bit, but repeated viewings have definitely made me less patient with the first act. It's just Jason Segel and a Jason Segel Muppet proxy running around talking about how sad it is that no one likes the Muppets anymore. That's . . . weird.

Also, Parsons just makes visual sense. If Walter were human, he'd be even taller and goofier than his brother. I really like that.

Well, Rabin wrote this 11 months ago, so he probably wasn't too grief-stricken at the time.

As for the story itself, I agree that it's pretty dull overall. And the "there's no concept, but actually there is, but it's all nonsense anyway who cares?" stuff doesn't work at all.

They do, but personally I just don't think of them as "Doctor Who." Torchwood is just some show I don't like very much, and Sarah Jane Adventures is a much more modest, generally entertaining little show that I don't remember very many of the episodes of.
