You'd be surprised. I went through the Catholic system pretty much my entire school career, and the libraries at my schools were chock full of intense and pretty odd stuff like The Sparrow. For a group that can be pretty uptight about sex, their schools sure have a lot of graphic texts in them.

yeah, given that this is the same company that signed on for six(!) seasons of American Gods up front with only one book actually written... I think they're showing some serious genre love

Let's not forget that tonight is also the premier of Dirk Gently on BBC 4! Y'know, for those that can get it. On TV. Not on the other "t" thing, I swear.

What if...

Yes, but that was really REALLY weird... in universe

Hrmm, sounds interesting. And I appreciate the approach to Longus and Don's relationship, sounds promising

I dunno... that whole "trust your instincts" thing could work out ok ;D

I was actually worried there for a while, it almost seemed like a regular polar bear. Now THAT would be crazy....

It's a bit of a destructive circle really... people think they have to dumb things down for kids, the kids get dumber. Rinse and repeat, and you have a lot of the problems with today's educational system.

Carter more or less laid it out in the end: to fund a personal war. Not the greatest explanation, but the one they seem to be going with.

Have that sucker hit the poles and we're all doomed

+1 internets to you, I would watch the hell out of that movie!

Unless of course he is in it for flashbacks or something?

Nina B# ?

Right, because science fiction never questions the meaning of existence and the action of forces we do not (yet) understand. Nope, it is completely irresponsible to get any metaphysics in my science fiction! Oh, except for that quantum mechanics thing. You know, the thing that the whole parallel universe is based off

Ha! That was such a great episode. I was so surprised when I saw that they got him to do the show (and even more surprised when I realized that the rest of his team was also his "men at arms" in Robin Hood), but then I found out that he is good friends with Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, which is even more awesome.

Awwwwwww, it's kinda adorable the way they're skittering about. Bats are awesome.

The Little Doctor! You really wouldn't want to be too close to the planet :/

Oh gods, an Americanized Mighty Boosh? Armageddon couldn't come fast enough if such a thing were ever decided upon *shudder*

I love that Doctor Strangelove line. No matter how many times I see that movie, I'm pretty much bound to be in stitches by the end
