Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy just won the Best documentary Oscar for a short on this very topic- “A girl in the river: the price of forgiveness”. It details similar circumstances bit unlike Zeenat the victim did survive, her abusers were charged but she was forced to formally forgive them and they now are free .
