Ha, thanks! It’s funny, we got a Grand Prix since it can be a commuter car and carry the family if needed. It was never intended to be the main car. Pt breaks down for good (not willing to pour more money into it), so the prix is our only working car. Wife loves the prix, but hates the height. Car seats in it are a

Hmm, couldn’t you just buy a auto turbo and swap it with a manual tranny? Unless the tranny is reinforced or something for the turbo...

Dang! Lucky! I think the pt loses it in aerodynamics and it being heavy (it’s supposedly/technically classified as a truck).

Mine was number one, five years ago. Found out later, it was originally from Hawaii.

Very true. Plus, since some people have a disdain for the pt, it would/could/should be the ultimate troll. For a pt hater, can anything be more offensive than being passed by a pt, and you can’t keep up?

First pt I saw was red with fake wood paneling. I still question how it left the factory like that.

Oh...it was far from economical. With a i4 engine, it got 23 hwy mpg. 23 is the national average in the USA. For the past 2 years I’ve commuted 320 miles a week. It adds up. My other car, a ‘07 Grand Prix with a v6, gets better mpg than the pt.

What got me interested in it was because it was so different from the other cars on the road. It has retro styling, yes, but most cars look bland, generic, and even like carbon copies of each other. To me, those kind of cars aren’t interesting. Plus, with the pt I was also planning for any future family that I might

Because I realized I was one of those guys who didn’t take care of their car, and just ignored problems. Well the ignored problem hit me with a $900 fix fee. Frustrated, mainly because it was preventable, I wanted to learn more about cars to prevent something like that from happening again.

Why yes, yes I have. When I first came to Jalopnik and discovered the seemingly universal hatred against my first car, my pride and joy, a ‘08 PT Cruiser base model with an auto. Nothing says “you bought the wrong car” then when most everyone hates it.

Kerry, you are now a hero to us aspiring tree climbers.

It’s still better than Florida.

That's what I say every time I high five a raccoon.

Shh, it's a secret!

I fight polar bears with my bare teeth. I’m also BFFs with Obama.

Mmmm....I think she’s missing some pants....

I’d be more willing to defend it if it didn’t keep breaking on me. But, while it worked, I thoroughly enjoy it. Now I’m just waiting for a mysterious $700 check to pay for the repairs...

....I keep thinking how cold she must be...

Some of us has sensitive hearing. Bikes consistently have too loud of sounds, hurting my ears. I like bikes, I really do, but making it obnoxiously loud is a jerk thing to do.

Doug, you really need to review a pt cruiser gt. is it as bad as people think, :).
