I think it comes down to “best practice” versus real world consequences. Would abstinence be the best practice? Yes. Would having sex with contraceptives and condemns be less safe than abstinence, but more safe than just sleeping with everyone you meet, consequences be damned? Yes.

Gamers are the original “snowflakes.” If even a small portion of their worldview is called into question, especially with either their a) favorite game, or b) their manliness (because face it, the toxic gamers are almost exclusively male), the go apoplectic faster than a young adult novel.
