I deal in public relations, and so of course do the women. Maybe they think its expected, or the old dudes always want hugs so they think the younger guys do as well. It is odd, but in my line of work, it is almost always hugs from the women.

Maybe it is because they are used to it from everyone else, but most times I go to shake a woman’s hand in a national professional setting, I end up getting hugged. In my little state, most professional women get and give handshakes and no one probably thinks any differently of it.
