If the GOP take the Senate, I would expect them to toss the filibuster and outlaw abortion nationwide. At this point, with all their electioneering shenanigans, gerrymandering, and outright willingness to just overturn elections, the next time they take the Senate, it will be for good.

From Alito’s wording, it seems his opinion (and therefore the majority) is that “real” Amendments end with the Eighth and that anything after that is potentially faulty lawmaking and is game for reexamination.
