during that time, i remember reading an article about coach k’s reaction to the idea of hiring abar rouse. not sure what took me so long, but that was the first time i realized he wasn’t the man that cbs/espn fallated at very opportunity. what an asshole.
she didn’t recommend an unqualified african-american, just and african american. do you assume that qualified african-american editorial writers are non-existant?
nike/addidas should offer an under armor immigration program for them to change allegiances.
do you exhibit the behaviors of everything you watch? no one should see anything if it not “morally” acceptable? by whose standards? your type of thinking is scary. i would hate to be deprived of any media or services because of what other people think of it. you watch things to learn about other spheres of life, peer…
ignorance is [dave] bliss.
say hello to a grown man who was told by his agency that he is not allowed to date until he gets married:
exactly!!!! it’s always been a myth.

instead of questioning the excellence of uconn, why don’t you question the lack of excellence of most other coaching staffs throughout women’s college basketball? some of these other teams don’t even look like they’ve seen any conditioning or the inside of weight rooms. maybe we should question the why other programs…
i think jung -hyun park caused it., but that’s just speculation.
it’ll be nice if other coaches started to develop the players they have like they do at uconn. it seems rare that players are so much better as seniors as they were as freshman. the problem with women’s basketball may be the lackluster coaching rather than the lack of basketball talent in the players/teams.
if he did do it, he could at least say he did it for her moral, since it seems to be the new excuse for acceptable groping:

use the “flash control” addon.
you’re right. but as a coach, you can do that every day — to the best of your ability with great results — and then go home and relish in your hate for the people who help you attain your goals.
not quite. your question was how could a racist person play/coach in the nba. it’s the same answer to how a racist owner can run a team in the nba/nfl/mlb/etc. it does/can happen.
ask donald sterling?
we’re about the same age. while i was growing up in ny, the word “posse,” outside of hip-hop and your sir mix-a-lot example, was never used as a positive or neutral modifier for black people. it was a common epithet on the news.
maybe not anymore, but only because it’s not used modernly. “posse” was used in the same manner that “thug” is now when i was growing up. it has negative connotations that relate to wilding, gangs, etc. it’s just as coded. jackson just reached back for an older message, but the meaning is still clear.
sheer optimism is how we got here. sheer optimism creates illusions.
