I'm pretty sure I read that the recent French production of "Follies" (in English, I think) will be released on DVD next year. They'll also be releasing the Paris production of "Sunday," but we already have the definitive version of that on DVD so it's not as exciting.

He sure helped a lot of people fall in love with movies - that's something. I only watched a few episodes of the TV show, but his generally brilliantly written (but very accessible) "Great Movies" essays were my gateway into the world of film.

That's it. I can perfectly respect someone who doesn't derive enough enjoyment out of so-called "art house" movies to justify the time spent. Everyone is entertained by different things.
