This was always the saddest thing to me. That if you read in between the lines, you realize that at some point, Megaman died, either turning himself off, being destroyed somehow, or being turned off by Dr. Light. It was kind of ahead of it’s time, sort of like how in real life Megaman was unceremoniously killed by

make wapeach the villain and kidnap wabowser

More murder than a Mario Bros game? Ask some goombas about that. Oh, you can't. They're dead.

Cecilia, this was a really enjoyable piece of gaming history. Well done!

I don’t miss losing levels when I’m dying and being FORCED to group at later levels. Also not being able to customize the interface and being able to not explore the full world without a group to back you up was tedious.

This is a great summary of what the game was like overall - a constant battle of the developers design vs players attempts to break it.

When I started playing Eq in 99 it was ran by 989 Studios and then later Verant, then Soe, and now Daybreak.

Id love to see more stories like this

I have such fond memories of early MMOs like EverQuest and Anarchy Online. There has been nothing matching the challenge and openness of vanilla EverQuest.

I was initially worried that Kerafyrm’s story would be improperly told in the article, but everything turned out for the best. EverQuest is kind of a major chapter of my life, especially when it came to game lore (I more or less consider myself the red shirt guy of EQ, and if any of the SOE devs who were at fan faire

Honest to God, I often think to myself how lucky I was to be able to play MMO’s in the late 90's and early 00's. My first serious MMO was Ultima Online and it changed my entire perception of games in a profound way. They quite literally do not make games like that anymore. It’s incredible how much MMO’s have changed

I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited reading about an MMO before.

EEeeeeeeeee! Sorry, that’s my glee sound for being involved in a story posted on here. I played on Rallos Zek, was in Wudan as a Ranger, and was in that fricking raid! It was in fact super boring by most standards but the fact is that it was intended to be unkillable, wipe your raid, then terrorize several zones

I fucking love how this art post turned int a bunch of people debating megaman lore, looking at all the details they put into the games and such makes me fall in love with the series all over again.

Depends whether her marriage to Tyrion was ever officially annulled. Which depends on who winds up in power in King’s Landing. She’s carrying Shroedinger’s Bastard.

As an 80s child, I’m pretty sure a lot of us read it with that same background epic-ness!

TLDR, but if the game was on, that means he was initially playing and NOT planning on beating her up... maybe she just came up and started bitching and complaining, as women do, and it snapped him...

HOW would you even conclude that from this thread. jesus

Uhh, they recreated the scene from Princess Bride where Westley and Inigo Montoya are fighting on the Cliffs of insanity.

So these sorts of products have a way of generating their own need. Nothing the common man uses needs 16TB, because there is nothing that big to store it. But when there is, and it is affordable, then all sorts of uses that CAN use up all that space start coming out of the woodwork now that they can. This still has to
