The license plate area doesn’t match. The Nitro is square, the mystery car is trapezoidal.
That or a facelifted Jeep Liberty were my first thoughts too, but now that I look at them they’re too blocky compared to the picture.
Glass looks longer and wider than the Nitro’s.
I don’t agree. Look at the D-pillar/hatch window surround. It looks much thinner in the dashcam photo. The Nitro also looks more straight/“upright”.

I’m going with fake... No fluids ever came out. Surely the radiator woulda busted, windshield washer fluid, oil etc should have been spilling out of it... I’m guessing something was up with the car and this is a video with a fake story for the cool factor...

Are you referencing the warning chime that could 100 different things. Do you not remember car in the 90s would chime when you put the key into the ignition... Was there ever a case where you were surprised by this, “How did the key get there? Thanks Chime!”.... No. My old corvette would chime to let me know the door…
